C.   Protect the environment by saving trees and by reducing the smokes.

D.   Reduce the cost for fuel for the rural people.

E.   Make this training for the rural youths as their alternative-earning source.

F.  Make this training program as an awareness campaign for the necessities of to protect environment for human beings.

A.       Arrange the training, seminar and exhibition on improved burner in various villages (in 20 villages) in the district of Pabna as scattered way.

B.       Two trainers will be appointed for this training program as contract basis.

C.       With the collaboration with local people and clubs we will arrange these programs.

D.    The trainees will be taught in practical and then served as volunteers for the first time on behalf of the organization.

E.       After finishing the training program, the trainees will get certificates and all type of possible assistance from the NGO to start their professional lives in this sector.

DURATION OF THE PROGRAM:

START FROM 1ST October 2011 AND WILL BE FINISHED BY December 2011.

JUSTIFICATION OF THE PROGRAM:

For our greater welfare with safe and sound environment we have to do something as emergency basis. Nothing is essential like protecting the environment from being destroyed, for whole mankind by preserving trees. In this sense we can call it : Save Trees, Save mankind. So, like tree plantation program we have to reduce the use of trees for fuel (and furniture also). In this context we have to think to adopt this policy for greater welfare of the mankind on earth.

Here can be introduced about our overall situation of the existing environment. It is necessary to preserve the forest about 25% of the land area of a country for maintaining the fresh environment for the human being of a country.  But, in fact, we have only 9%, and it is, obviously, decreasing day by day.  There are many reasons for this situation.

We use fuel (trees & weeds) for cooking about 100 crore monds (3,80,00,000 tons) in a year. This situation is becoming severe day by day due to increase of population in our country. It can be mentioned here that we are using those fuel in our traditional burners, in which only 5% to 15% of the produced heat become usable and other 85% to 95% of the produced heat become wastage.

But, if we use the improved burner or cooking stove in place of traditional one, we will be able to save the fuel more than 50% of the present. This means we will be able to reduce the pressure on trees and weeds to be used as fuel. The organization (Btope©) believes that the improved burner / cooking stoves would be able to produce a tremendous change in the protection of environment through many ways, like:

-     It reduces the fuel-consumption more than 50% of the present one.

-    This burner/stove produces a very little amount of smoke and the smoke will be sent outside the kitchen through the adjacent pipe. It also makes the kitchen least heated. These are the more secured for both environment and for the health of the cooks (women).

-     It reduces the cooking time (about 50% of the present one).

-   Our cultivated land will get more natural fertilizer from weeds, cow-dung, etc., which will be saved from being fuel for cooking.

-   It will be able to make the lives of rural people comfortable and reduce the living cost of them.

If we consider the direct output from the improved burners / cooking stoves, which would be as below, it would be a huge achievement to make the rural people familiar with this. The below points are demanding to be justified for this program too.

Improved Stove (Photo source:
http://www.smokeinthekitchen.org)
01) It maintains almost smokeless environment in the kitchen

02) It increases the energy efficiency of 27% -29%
03) This burner (stove) saves 50% - 60% fuel compared to traditional stoves.
04) This stove significantly reduces the indoor air pollution in the kitchens
05) Reduction of cooking fuel by about 50%, it leads to saving of money,
06) It reduces the fuel collection time (50%) as well as cooking time (30%-40%) too.
07) This stove helps to keep the kitchen and pots clean.
08) It reduces the burden on the forest resources.
09) This stove improves the soil by increased use of bio-fertilizer, and
10) It creates a wide space in income generation sectors for the builders and trainers.

So, through our program, the anticipated result will be as follows:

Ø   The proposed improved burner will get popularity among the rural people.

Ø   The rural people will be able to make the improved burner for themselves.

Ø   The rural people will be aware about the necessity to protect the environment by saving trees.

Ø   Through this program we will be able to introduce an alternative professional group for rural people in the rural area.
